Located in the Borșa region of Cluj, Romania, this project reinforces Metaltech AB’s commitment to large-scale international renewable energy investments. With an installed capacity of 5.5 MWp, the plant is being equipped with 8,462 advanced-technology solar panels and aims to generate millions of kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually for the region.
More than just an energy production site, this project is a strategic infrastructure investment that directly supports Romania’s carbon emission reduction policies.

During the installation phase, topographical features and annual solar radiation statistics of the area were carefully analyzed to shape the engineering approach. Site-specific slope orientation and panel layout were optimized to achieve maximum energy output, while also ensuring stable system performance against climatic fluctuations throughout the year.

The panels used in the project are internationally certified, boasting a low thermal coefficient, high light absorption rate, and long-term performance durability. Inverter systems are integrated with remotely monitored smart infrastructures, enabling real-time performance analysis and automatic fault notifications. This ensures the project not only delivers on production but also exemplifies high-tech maintenance and sustainable system management.

The Borșa project marks a significant milestone in Romania’s transition to renewable energy sources. Upon completion, it is expected to generate approximately 8,000 MWh of clean energy annually, preventing 7,500 tons of CO₂ emissions — a figure that holds major significance for both regional and national environmental targets.
