As part of its expanding renewable energy vision across Europe, Metaltech AB is developing a next-generation solar power plant in Lunca Mureșului, Alba County, Romania. With an installed capacity of 66.6 MWp, this large-scale project represents one of the company’s most significant strategic investments in sustainable energy infrastructure.
🔍 Project Details
Location: Alba / Lunca Mureșului, Romania
Project Start Date: 12 January 2026
Planned Delivery Date: 31 May 2026
Status: Upcoming Project (Installation in Progress)
Installed Capacity: 66.6 MWp
Number of Solar Panels: 114,000 units
DC Solar Cable Length: 1,116,342 meters
The project site presents engineering challenges due to terrain slopes reaching up to 15% in certain areas. Extensive ground analysis, optimized panel positioning, and advanced mounting solutions have been implemented to ensure maximum performance despite complex topographical conditions.
☀️ High Capacity, Strong Energy Future
Once completed, the Alba / Lunca Mureșului Solar Power Plant will make a substantial contribution to regional energy production and play a key role in Romania’s renewable energy transition. The project aims to significantly reduce fossil fuel dependency and lower carbon emissions through large-scale clean energy generation.
🏗️ Engineering Solutions for Challenging Terrain
Specialized structural systems and reinforced infrastructure solutions are being used to adapt to the sloped terrain. The long-distance DC cabling network has been carefully engineered to minimize energy losses and maximize system efficiency.
👥 Regional Development and Technical Contribution
Local workforce participation and regional supply chains are actively integrated into the project, supporting economic development while enabling knowledge transfer and sustainable growth.
🌍 Powering the Future with Metaltech AB
